CITY GUIDE
Welcome to Örebro! While you’re here for Live at Heart, there’s so much to explore beyond the festival. Here are some ideas to make your time in the city memorable.
1. Visit Örebro Castle
Örebro Castle is right in the heart of the city. We’re famous for it, so it’s a great place to start. Whether you join a tour or just wander around, the castle’s history and atmosphere make it worth a visit. It’s also a fantastic spot for photos.
2. Take a Walk Through Wadköping
Wadköping is like stepping into another time. This open-air museum has old wooden houses, cozy cafés, and little shops selling handmade crafts. It’s a quiet, relaxing place to take a break and enjoy a slower pace. Pro tip: Make a stop at HUSET for a beer and a grilled sandwich.
3. Enjoy the Svartån River
The Svartån River runs through Örebro, and walking along it is a peaceful way to spend some time. Find a bench, watch the water, and take a moment to breathe—you deserve it. Pro tip: Enjoy the song “Svartån” by Kallsup while enjoying the actual water.
4. Stop by Kulturkvarteret
If you’re into books, music, or just cool spaces, Kulturkvarteret is worth checking out. It’s a mix of library, cafés, and creative spaces, and it’s a nice spot to meet people or recharge.
5. Relax in Stadsparken
Stadsparken is one of the most beautiful parks in Sweden. Whether you’re up for a jog, a walk, or just sitting with a coffee, it’s a great place to unwind. You might even stumble upon some local events happening there.

Örebro has plenty of great food options. For something special, try amano for amazing Italian dishes or Gro for Sweden’s best eco food.
7. Check Out Svampen Water Tower
For one of the best views of Örebro, head up Svampen. It’s an old water tower turned into a skybar, with a viewing platform out of this world. With drinks, food and Swedish fika – It’s a simple but nice way to see the city from above while giving yourself a nice little treat.
8. Find Unique Shops
Take a walk through the city’s shopping areas. Find your vinyl records at Bananamoon or rcrdsnstuff or visit one of the city’s unique second hand stores. If you’re more into traditional shopping and boutiques, then pay a visit to Vågen & Krämaren, that both have a good a mix of stores, cafés and food stops.
9. Enjoy Live Music and Nightlife
When you’re not on stage, check out the other venues hosting live music during the festival. Places like Clarion Hotel and Makeriet have great vibes and are perfect for meeting other artists, festival-goers and party people.
10. Explore Nearby Nature
If you have some extra time, consider a short trip to Garphyttan National Park for hiking or Hjälmaren Lake for a quiet escape. Both are just a short drive from the city.
