OKEJ Magazine was unique. No other magazine reached 100% of its target audience – teenagers – and the sales figures were staggering during the golden years of the 1980s. SVT’s documentary film ‘Allt som fanns var OKEJ’ was watched by over a million viewers and praised by TV critics (Aftonbladet’s Jan-Olov Andersson: ‘Incredibly entertaining‘).

Now, Tengner and Holmstedt, who together have met and interviewed more global pop and rock stars than any other journalists in Sweden, are taking the stage to provide an in-depth look at the OKEJ phenomenon, which influenced an entire generation and remains a deeply rooted brand wrapped in pink, glittering nostalgia.

A podcast have been recorded (due to be released this fall) to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of SOM (Svenska Oberoende Musikproducenter).

The pod, where Eva Karman Reinhold sits down for personal interviews with interesting representatives from the music industry – from well experenced as well as brand new labels – will come to life on stage during Live at Heart. During this seminar you’ll get an example of those conversations in a live podcast format, the theme is “the independents of the future“.

How on earth can a small band plan and execute tours abroad? 

Meet Jan Hagerodt, founder of Spider Promotion and an expert on Europe’s largest indie music market – Germany. 

”Hage” works with indie artists of various sizes and has previously signed bands on the spot during Live at Heart Festival, who have since toured Germany regularly. This guy knows what he’s talking about and he’ll dedicate 1,5 hours to answer your questions, bounce ideas and broaden your perspective on touring Germany.

15 years ago, live music enthusiasts Anders Damberg and Johannes Nilsson met. Unknowingly, both of these  aficionados had the same idea – a place for the music business to discover new artists. The result was Live at Heart.- A live music showcase festival which has hosted many classic live shows at central Örebro Stages.

Join them both, together with Interviewer Claes Olson  for a nostalgic talk, full of memories and crazy antics.

POPKOLLO – CREATING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY OF THE FUTURE

Welcome to an inspiring lecture with Popkollo, the non-profit organization that is revolutionizing the music industry and opening doors for young girls and transgender individuals to create music and take space in an often male-dominated world. In this lecture, you will gain insight into how Popkollo works to educate and support the next generation of artists, songwriters, and producers. We will also discuss the challenges in today’s music industry and how Popkollo’s work contributes to creating change at both the individual and industry levels.

Whether you are an artist, an industry professional, or simply interested in learning more about this important work, you will leave the lecture with new insights and inspiration.

CHOIR WORKSHOP AT MEDBORGARSKOLAN

Join us for a Drop-In – no registration needed, just show up. Bring a friend!

A workshop focused on choir singing and solo performance under the lead of Angelica Åhman. You’ll learn how to work with different voices and tones. You’ll gain a toolbox for developing both your singing voice for choir and for your solo performances. We’ll also work on vocal care – many singers, even those who’ve sung for a long time, in a choir for example, think they only have one voice and can sing in just one way. In this workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to explore your voice and try out different singing styles and sounds.

Angelica Åhman is a trained vocal coach and teaches both beginners and professional singers. She also works as a freelance musician and is a trained music teacher. Angelica is super inspiring and full of energy, and her workshops are highly appreciated.

It’s going to be an amazing workshop! And it’s free! No registration needed.
