Fabrizio Cammarata

Fabrizio Cammarata grew artistically opening shows for Ben Harper, Patti Smith, Villagers, The Paper Kites, and he has performed with Damien Rice and Daniel Johnston. Born in Palermo, Sicily, 6 albums to date, he has toured Europe, Canada, U.S. and Mexico with his songs of love, longing, lights and shadows, inspired by the voices of Chavela Vargas, Leonard Cohen, Fabrizio De André, along with Federico García Lorca’s poetry. He shifts through multiple languages, staying true to his Mediterranean descent, evolving with the musical curiosity of a tireless traveller. He made his debut in 2007 with the band The Second Grace. In 2011 he went solo, releasing the albums "Rooms", produced by J.D. Foster (Calexico) and “Skint And Golden” (with Paolo Fuschi). After that, he started a long journey across 4 continents focusing on the traditional Mexican song "La Llorona", whose version by Cammarata also appears on his EP "In Your Hands" (2016) and is the highlight of his live shows. In Jan 2017, together with singer-songwriter Dimartino, he released "Un Mondo Raro", an album and a novel dedicated to the late Mexican singer Chavela Vargas. In Nov 2017, “Of Shadows” was released, produced by Dani Castelar (Paolo Nutini), establishing Fabrizio as one of the most appreciated Italian voices abroad in the alternative music scene, with over 3 million streams as of 2022. In March 2019 “Lights” was released, also produced by Castelar. New EP “Stripped To The Bone” out 31/03/2023.
