10.00 - 13.00 Chimney Future at Live at Heart

Part 1. The past and the present

Location: Scandic Grand - Markurells

Attraction by association - The past, the present and the future of branded content.

This two day seminar is hosted by Chimney https://www.chimneygroup.com/
and continues september 1

The ancient Egyptians made posters of papyrus and in Pompeii various services were sold directly on the walls, for example Eupemus stecus e fundo et rota: “Eupemus sells manure and a turntable”.

Over 2,000 years later, the way to sell a product has changed - we have found new ways. Many large companies have almost completely stopped focusing on the products themselves, instead raising their brand associated with different value bases. You prefer an attractive lifestyle associated with the brand more than showing the individual product. And many big brands now produce their own entertainment in their own distribution channels.

Will content in movies, music, TV, and other media change if content is part of different advertising campaigns? Or if the distribution channels are owned by the world's leading brands? Or does everyone have the benefit of development?

From Michelin Guide to Swedish Room Service. Short historical background about branded content.

Case studies of among others:

  • Southern Comfort's work with documentaries about musicians who breathe the soul of the company.
  • Destination Gotland's location marketing.
  • Pernod Ricard's work on the launch of a new brand in eight cities through a documentary series for 8 x 22 minutes.

"For the past 40 years, I have been a Nerikes Allehanda-published photographer of rock musicians. This exhibition will be showing pictures taken at a variety of venues, from gigantic arenas like Ullevi to smaller locales like Benkes bakgård in western Örebro.

These days, large venues don't interest me much. They have a tendency to overshadow the music itself, turning the show into an obnoxious spectacle.

I have been a music lover since childhood. I was one of the millions of young people that were enchanted by the Beatles. The feeling was not something I could put into words, but something about the music touched my heart and energized me. I have never lost that rocker's heart - music is what keeps me going.

When I first became a photographer, rock music was strictly a young people's game. Now, it has retirement-aged fans. It used to not be considered true culture - today it is essential culture. The Nobel Prize in Literature has even been awarded to a rock musician.

To quote Neil Young, rock 'n roll will never die.

As a rock music photographer I want to capture tiny moments in time, with Bob Dylan's words in the back of my head: Time is a jetplane, it moves too fast."
