Mike Strano, Founding Director, PHAT! Music & Entertainment Limited. For more than 18 years, Mike Strano has continually explored the Music Business of Africa. Since moving to Eastern Africa in 1998, Mike and his Phamily have Built one of best-known Entertainment Companies in Africa; which The Business Daily and KPMG listed at No.36 of the Top 100 Mid-Sized Businesses in Kenya, during 2016. One of their Businesses – PHAT! Intellectual Property, has represented SHEER Publishing of South Africa, in the Region, since 2012; with local Clients including: Alikiba, Barakah the Prince, Cannibal, Cindy Sanyu, Eric Musyoka, Eric Wainaina, Girum Mezmur, H_Art the Band, Jackie Chandiru, Jay A, Johnny Ragga, Kawesa, Kidum, Lady JayDee, Maurice Kirya, Navio, Radio & Weasel, Sauti Sol, Suzanna Owiyo, Swahili Nation, Timwork, Tsedenia, Xpat, etc; and international Clients including: Aloe Blacc, Bob Marley, D’Banj, Katy Perry, Kirk Franklin, Kylie Minogue, Paul McCartney, etc. Another of their Businesses owns & runs: ONGEA! – The Eastern Africa Music Summit, which completed its 4th Edition in February (14th-17th) 2019, and Aims to help Develop an Industry that is Professional, Transparent & Profitable for All. ONGEA! was created after ten (10) successful Years of KENYA MUSIC WEEK, from 2004 to 2013. Their other Businesses include PHAT!buzz™ - a monthly Publication since 2000, and supplying Content to Safaricom GETiT411, since 2002; and PHAT! Productions - a founding Platinum Member of the Event Managers’ Association of Kenya (EMAK). Mike Strano is also a Founding Director MyChoiceTV™ - a Kenyan of Video on Demand service that will take African film to the World. And recently, Mike Strano became one of the founding Board Members of Music Publishers Association of Kenya (MPAKE), which was Approved by the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) for the Collection and Distribution of Royalties, on behalf of Authors, Composers and Publishers, from 27th March 2017.
