Guitarist, singer and songwriter Juozas Martin (Juozas Martinkėnas) began his career in 2006, soon after finishing “J. Tallat-Kelpšos Conservatory” in Vilnius, Lithuania. He started to perform with many different Lithuanian artists, as well as create his own music with the band called “Insearch”. This four-piece group of people, alumni of Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy, released two albums - “Art Alarm” (2011) and “Empire of Sand” (2015). While being active at home and participating in all top jazz events and festivals in the country, “Insearch” also expanded their fan base abroad and toured Russia, France and Italy. Throughout those years Juozas Martin had been an active session guitarist and celebrated some great achievements, like winning 1st place in “Young Guitarists Competition 2013” (Vilnius). In 2014 Juozas diverted his attention to song lyrics and songwriting in general. This has led to some of his first pieces, written for famous Lithuanian artists, such as “15” by Girmantė Vaitkutė and “Ant mašinos stogo” by Vaidas Baumila. Due to an inactive period with “Insearch” and only composing songs for other artists, Juozas felt lack of self- expression. That was the time, when new songs started to develop in his mind and the whole idea of a solo career emerged. “Neša tolyn”, released in April 2017, was the first single of a newborn solo artist. Followed by 2nd single “You Don't Know Me” and appearance at the national selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with song “Don't Give Up”, debut album “Mixed Blessing” was released in February 2018.
