April Henry (US)

From tender whispers to the anthemic, pouring out of a song, April Henry is interested in the raw nerve and electricity that connects us as human beings. April is an Award-Winning Vocalist-Songwriter-Producer, recognized in the prestigious eWorld Music Awards (Produced by the same who created the Spirit Awards for Independent Film). Recently, she was also nominated for 6 Indie Music Channel Awards, Winning Best Alternative Producer, which was hosted at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, April 29th. She uses theatricality and high-octane vocals to take audiences on a rollercoaster of music influences that characterize her own brand of Electro-Pop-Rock. Raised five minutes from the rodeo in South Florida by two Country-Gospel Songwriter parents, April began her music journey at the age of two. Vocally she is called “A cross between Janis Joplin and Whitney Houston” by reviewers. Her music explores the unification of Pop, Electronic, Rock, Alternative and R&B, yet can be found experimenting with World music and other genres. April’s talents have been recognized by industry luminaries such as Peter Gabriel, Tom Waits, Adele, Robert Smith, and former Epic Records president Amanda Ghost in the International Songwriting Competition. A graduate of New World School of the Arts Conservatory, April honed her talents and passion for stage performance. As an actress, she has performed all over South Florida and Off Broadway in NYC, as well as in TV, Commercials and Film. Bringing theatricality to music, when you see her on stage, you don't just get a singer, you get a performance. April has performed to sold out houses all over the world from venues like the Bitter End, Feinsteins at the Loews Regency, the Jackie Gleason (Fillmore) Theater, Sunfest (opening for Michelle Branch and Gavin DeGraw) to as far as Bar Queen in Japan. In addition to music, April has a passion for animals and the environment as well as Human Rights. She supports the NRDC, Ocean Conservancy, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and performed at the Sustainatopia conference in Miami Beach for social, financial and environmental change.
